Hello, all. Wow, I am back from my trip to England and can’t wait to share a recap. I will post on Monday iy”H – really looking forward to writing this up and sharing it with you!

Yesterday was my Hebrew birthday and next week is my English, so it’s birthday season for me right now. This trip was the present I gave myself so no skimping there, that’s for sure.
This birthday I’m very much feeling “it is what it is.” I’m grateful to be here and I can’t think too much about numbers…it is what it is.

My trips have usually been around culture and history but this was about the landscapes and gosh, I didn’t know how much I needed that. No trips planned – I’ve burned through too much PTO for that – but definitely keeping this in mind! The vistas just filled me up.

A friend recently shared that she has been buying herself weekly flowers from Trader Joe’s. It just costs a few dollars and brings her such joy. She pointed out that flowers are a gift from Hashem – He could have designed nature without them but He gave them to us to give us color and scent and texture and beauty.
I’ve also found myself paying more attention to flowers since my tulip trip. I never really thought of myself as a nature person – I’m just not outdoorsy – but maybe you can be indoorsy and also be a nature person in a way accessible to you.

Have I mentioned Aloha bars before? They are my favorite protein bar that I have been enjoying recently as a late afternoon boost (and on my trip). I’ve only ever tried the chocolate chip cookie dough flavor but hey, why mess with success?

I finally read All Creatures Great and Small by James Herriot before my trip and started the sequel, All Things Bright and Beautiful right before my trip and read more of it during my travels. These books are so funny!

And that’s it for now, wishing you a good Shabbos and please come back next week for a travel recap!
