Winter Newsletter 8/13

I hope you’re staying warm out there, wherever you are! The weather people are predicting that we will get over a foot of snow this Sunday – eek. On the plus side, I hope this means a nice attendance at the intro class to my first paid course of Journal to the Self. (What cozier activity is there than a group writing session on Zoom). I bit the bullet (as they say) and advertised, which was so nerve-wracking, but people have signed up for the free intro class and hopefully this will result in a nice group for the full course. In any event, I am really proud of myself for putting myself out there—definitely out of my comfort zone! Will update bn! Oh, and…if you happen to be participating in the class, why don’t we keep this blog between us, haha.

Recruitment was the main event for me this week, but I also had a little adventure one night after work. I went to the Altneu for a lecture (not to be confused with the shul in Prague lol, this is a shul on the Upper East Side). I got there early and the rabbi was giving a parsha shiur. I ended up following another woman in and I’m so glad because it was really beautiful and made me realize that I have not been to a live shiur in a VERY VERY long time. Maybe I can do this again…

Reading: Earlier this week, I read Unknown New York by Jesse Richards and added notes to my document of notes from Art Hiding in New York. I am now enjoying A Year in Provence by Peter Mayle, it’s so funny! Are you reading anything interesting?

Wishing you a restful and cozy Shabbos!
