This was our first week with some freezing days — there was even a dusting of snow one morning. Inspired as I am by my current read, How To Winter, I resolved not to let the cold keep me from walking from the train station to work (about 30 minutes and the bulk of the exercise I get during the week…). This turned out to be nice — I passed through Bryant Park and saw some early morning skaters. Later, I walked by Rockefeller Center and saw more skaters. I have to say, New York City does winter well.
My sister and I went out to eat on Sunday night – this was a birthday present to her (her actual birthday was two months ago but between YT and scheduling, this is when we finally got it down). We had such a nice time – French onion soup and salmon tacos and pasta and a Belgian waffle.
This week I finished up the JTTS instructor training! I watched the remaining 4 hours and wrote my response paper. Next week I have an exit interview with Kay Adams. This will be my third meeting with Kay Adams and I am reminded that you never know what opportunities life will open up to you — years ago when I held onto her book for dear life and wrote and wrote my way out of a lot of pain and heartbreak, I could not imagine having meaningful 1:1 conversations with her, but here we are!
I am planning a pilot group for practice to begin at the end of the month. Really looking forward to this beH!
Also, this week I applied for Global Entry — my new credit card covers the fee so I figured, why not. This application was a little annoying but at the end of the day it took about 20 minutes and it’s done. The next day I got conditional approval and my interview is scheduled for the week after next. Movement!
I also tried to schedule an appointment to get REAL ID, there was nothing available for months so I am going to drop that for now.
I am at 20 pages of lit review! So grateful to be making headway. I’ve burned through a lot of the low-hanging fruit but hopefully will maintain momentum to get this done by the end of the semester.
And I’m not reading anything new right now – still working through How To Winter and the Charlotte books.
Have a beautiful Shabbos!

Good for you! The secret in New Jersey is to schedule under real ID. Tuesday is not under real ID
Plenty of appointments available all on Tuesday.
Ah, let me try this!
I just realized that if I upgrade to REAL ID too soon my license won’t be renewed? I need to confirm this but that would be a shame as it expires in June.
