Often, people see us through the lens of our single status exclusively, or at least predominantly. We may even start to see ourselves that way. However, as it turns out, the other parts of life matter quite a bit. Such as your job, health, relationships, and finances. They don’t start to matter when you get married — perhaps in some ways the stakes get higher so some things become “more important” once you are married, but that’s not when they begin.
I know this seems basic, but I’m saying it in case anyone needs that reminder or validation. Being an adult encompasses many roles and responsibilities, and having a good life involves a lot more than having a spouse! Life — real life, and not the dress rehearsal — is happening now.
Own it, embody it, live it!
