At the Carnavalet Museum in Paris, I enjoyed perusing the collection of paintings of La Belle Époque (which you can see if you click the link for the museum and scroll down). According to the informational plaque at the exhibit, this collection of about 40 paintings was donated to the museum in the year 2000. It got me thinking about what subject-specific art collection I would like to start building. In New Orleans I really enjoyed the collection of Southern landscapes at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art. I think building a specific collection like this could be so cool.
