This question was posed by my cousin Shabbos before last when the three of us (cousin, sister and I) discussed potential Purim plans. My answer was “a quiet seudah.” As it happens, I was invited to a friend (same as last year) and it will probably just be the two of us, like last year. That sounds just right to me.
I will also look for quiet megillah readings. I have bought my shalach manos items and will quietly deliver them to a few friends.
We’ve talked a lot here about yomim tovim as mile markers, which can be challenging. It’s helpful to know that there aren’t really any rules about how you have to spend YT, and it’s nice to have the agency as an adult to consider your needs and plan for the kind of experience you want to have.
We’re a couple weeks out, so…what do you need this Purim?
