My sister just went on a long drive, and the day before she left she mentioned that she hadn’t found the right music for the road. I shared that show tunes invariably leave me feeling upbeat.
Here are my favorite soundtracks (my sister was into the idea):
The Sound of Music (of course!)
Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (the West End theatrical production is on Spotify, not the 1968 film)
The King and I (I saw the 2015 revival, so I listen to that)
Fiddler on the Roof (I saw the 2015 revival as well, ditto)
Wicked (Broadway)
The Music Man (Broadway)
select songs from others, like “N.Y.C.” from Annie, “Oh, What a Beautiful Morning” and “Oklahoma” from Oklahoma, “Some Enchanted Evening” from South Pacific, “Journey to the Past” from Anastasia
This reminded me of the time July 4th fell on Shabbos and my roommate at the time made corn dogs.
As we all know well, I am obsessed with intimate weddings, elopements, etc., as well as NYC. I love the bridal look (disclaimer: dress is very short) of this wedding.
It’s Cold Seltzer Can season again and I love it!
For Artist’s Way week 5, my Artist Date was making a vision board. I so enjoyed this and love looking at my board. P.S. I am supposed to be on the lookout for synchronicity per the program, and I had a few moments this week: I asked around for old magazines I could use for my vision board and didn’t get any, then I got a facial and the salon had a pile of magazines they let me take home. I am really into Scotland at the moment (what can I tell you, I met a cute Scotsman recently) and “Scot” (i.e. Scotsman) was the first word in the NYT The Mini yesterday. I am going to visit my grandmother for the long weekend and a client mentioned my grandmother’s city which I don’t hear often in random conversation. No earth shattering coincidences, but little nods that made me feel good.
Happy 4th 🙂 and have a good Shabbos!
