Fall Newsletter 1/13

I realized that writing a weekly “newsletter” is a helpful exercise for me because it makes me review my week and see how much happens in a week, or even a day. Will I continue this throughout all four seasons, all year long? Who knows!

A sprinkle of small updates:

This week was my final push to get everything together for my Austrian citizenship application. More on that next week!

One day this week I went to get an apostille for my birth certificate, and because I got to Lower Manhattan so early, I stopped by the 9/11 Memorial. No words for this, but if you’re ever in the area, it’s worth a visit.

There has been a chill in the air in the morning, and this week I had my first mug of hot chocolate, sea salt caramel hot cocoa, which is delicious.

I’m nervous about starting my teaching semester next week. I wish I felt more prepared but I just don’t. After the first class I think I’ll feel a lot better. It’s a new subject and it felt really overwhelming all summer, I’ve only just started chipping away at it but enough to get off the ground.

I finished 10 of 24 hours of the Journal to the Self instructor certification training.

This week was my nephew’s bris! I wish I could have been there! He joins a whole bunch of brothers, I love them all.

Thank you for filling out the survey! If you haven’t, it’s not too late. There is no clear winner as far as frequency or format; some of you prefer frequent blog posts, others would prefer less frequent emails. For now, because it’s easiest for me, I’ll continue posting here and I do intend to try and get back into a frequent posting schedule – the break over the summer was helpful! And one clear winner is that you would like more content about shidduchim — b”n, yes, that is something I will focus on. Thank you again!
