This seems like a good time to check on my winter fun list and see how I did. In early January I did a check-in, and…have actually not done anything on the list since. The Roy Lichtenstein retrospective at the Whitney is opening this fall. I can still go to Mendy’s after work, but the window of opportunity to get to Date Night at the Met this season has pretty much closed. I am sorry to have missed this, but there’s always next year…
This week I met a friend for lunch at Blue Star Cafe. This was different! I had a veggie burrito.
The other important accomplishment of this week was filing my taxes. Always a relief to have that done!
Thankfully, the weather has been relatively warm this week (mostly high 30’s or so), and the snow is melting off the sidewalks. This is a big relief, as after the last snowfall, my walk to the train was treacherous for weeks. Spring really is on the way after all, and the feeling of seasonal change is in the air. I’m looking forward to longer, warmer days, and getting to go on longer walks, but also feeling trepidation about approaching the end of the semester. Lots more work needs to get done on my dissertation proposal, and the hardest part is sitting down to do it! But, I felt this way before starting on my literature review and now that is about 27-30 pages (still needs editing), plus I’ve worked on the study problem section too. So I can remember that it does get done, little by little!
Wishing you a good Shabbos and a freilichen Purim!
