I tend to not be great about printing pictures (and definitely don’t make photobooks) after trips and things. However, inspired by my cousin, who brought printed pictures of our trip to France when we were together one Shabbos, I decided to try and get some, too. It was a big undertaking (to me), but eventually I winnowed things down to about 170 pictures and I do love having them printed! Since that was so nice, I decided to print pictures from my trip to England last summer. This process was more wonderful than I had anticipated — though occasionally these pictures will show up on the home screen of my phone, it was a pleasure to go through all of them and relive that adventure. Since I was trying to make a minimum so I could use a discount code, I added pictures of some more recent events to my order. This batch turned into a small highlights reel — one-off photos of moments from the past year that I cherish or enjoy remembering.
I thought this might be a nice activity to do if one has the time in the next day or so: looking through your camera roll since last Rosh Hashanah (which was 9/22-24) and “hearting” or even printing a small highlights reel. It may be a reminder of what I wrote the other day — a year is truly an amazing thing!
I will be away through Tzom Gedalia, hoping to catch up with you sometime mid-next week. Once again, and with all my heart, wishing you a shana tova u’mesuka, a year of bracha, parnassa, health and happiness — a highlights reel kind of year.
Tachel shana u’berchoseha!
