Rosh Hashanah at my grandmother was very nice b”H, and busy. I went up with my father Thursday afternoon (my mother was already there). I had actually been in the city for work until 12:30 on Thursday, walked to the train via CVS (to pick up photos), and then arrived home around 2:15. I changed, finished packing, put photos in albums, and we headed out about 4. It was quite nice to drive through the Adirondacks by day.
After we arrived at my grandmother and unloaded the car, we went out again at about 10:30 to pick up some YT takeout and a late late supper (for me). Erev RH morning I got a haircut and went to the cemetery to my grandfather’s kever with my aunt and uncle. I davened both days of RH with my aunt and cousins — it was beautiful, there was a boys’ choir for parts of mussaf — and shul was close enough to my grandmother’s that I went home during the break on both days.
I visited another cousin the afternoon of the first day, ate at my aunt and uncle the second day, and visited my great-aunt the second afternoon. Other cousins and relatives stopped by my grandmother’s house throughout YT to visit. All this to say, it was a very busy few days. And, on Monday morning, my father and I drove back home, and were home for a few hours in the afternoon before we left to Lakewood to my cousin‘s yahrtzeit seudah. From there, we dropped off some YT food at my sister in Toms River, and then drove a family friend home to Manhattan before returning home at last at midnight. We had been out and about for most of the previous 15 hours!
So…I’ve been feeling a little jetlagged, I suppose. Or just plain tired. Work has also been very busy. I’ve been doing the work of at least 1.5 people. Working on fixing that. But…I’m tired.
How was your RH? How has your week been going? Do you have plans for Yom Kippur and Succos?
