Oh, Chanukah Presents

This year I decided to buy gifts for my nieces and nephews. I had to shop for about ten gifts and wanted to stay in the $10-or-so range, which was harder to do than I thought, but also kind of fun to work within those constraints (and Cyber Monday deals helped). Next year I think I’ll do one “signature” auntie gift and not spend so much time debating what to get for who! (Quick rundown of what I got: Happy Salmon for 12-year-old boy, puzzle for 9-year-old boy, Monopoly Jr. Trucks for 7-year-old boy, Hidden Pictures book for 6-year-old boy, two Elephant & Piggie books for 5 year-old boy, stick-on earrings for 4-year-old girl, animal stamps, scented markers + construction paper, and Play-Doh for three 3-year-old boys, and a favorite board book for 2-year-old girl. Whew. Ka”h. TYH).

My family did not often do gifts for birthdays or Chanukah when I was growing up, but that is something I want to do with my children. I’ll iron out the details when I meet them 😉 but it is important to me, and probably why I spent so much time on it this year.

Do you/did you do Chanukah presents as a family?
