Where You Work, Again

Thinking about work, in the vein of yesterday’s post. Six years ago I wrote about how lonely I was being the only frum person where I worked and how happy I was to change jobs to work with other frum people. It’s so interesting, now I kind of feel the opposite. I am the only frum person where I work and sure, there are moments where I just feel so different — eg. special food at work luncheons — but I’m also just…normal. I’m not the resident older single. Honestly I forget that I’m in shidduchim. It’s just strange at the same time because I want to use my skills in the frum community, and right now I feel that I am better off outside of it. Do you relate?
