At the conference last week, I participated in a poetry group workshop. For one of the exercises, we had to choose a favorite poem from a packet of poems, then our favorite line, then our favorite pair of words, then use those words as the title for a poem of our own.
The poem I chose was “Praising Spring,” by Linda Gregg.
My favorite line was “Even at night I go out with a light and look / at the growing.”
And my favorite two words were “the growing.”
And this is my poem (a haiku):
The Growing
Even under snow
Life continues to course forth
Gestating new love.
Have a beautiful day!

P.S. Here is another spring-themed poem I wrote in a recent workshop.
