Earlier this week, I shared a list of quotes with my journaling class, and people chose one to respond to. One of the quotes a participant chose was:
When you hit a wrong note, it’s the next note that makes it good or bad.
– Miles Davis, jazz musician
We talked about life as improv. We all hit wrong notes, but it’s what we do next that makes the difference. Face it or avoid it? Dig in or repair? Self-criticize or practice self-compassion?
This reminds me of another quote I’ve seen (unattributed):
If you stumble, make it part of the dance.
Wishing you a nice day!
