Bucket List

I searched Modern Mrs. Darcy, a book review blog, for an old post and found this great one. I have not read the book referenced — 168 Hours: You Have More Time Than You Think, by Laura Vanderkam — but I am absolutely planning on doing the exercise mentioned of making a list of 100 dreams. Off the top of my head, some dreams:

  • write a book
  • teach a class (a kodesh class of some kind in a high school, seminary, or to adults)
  • open an integrative therapy practice
  • write a play
  • watch said play performed
  • visit the Swiss Alps
  • visit Vienna
  • visit Normandy, do a D-Day tour
  • visit the American Southwest (Sedona, Zion National Park)
  • visit DisneyWorld again
  • own an apartment (this is for another time but I am charmed at the idea of owning an apartment in a doorman building)
  • add a few pink streaks to my hair one time (there is a story here too, and I don’t intend to follow through until I am covering my hair so please exhale)
  • train in therapeutic writing
  • teach a therapeutic writing class
  • get a mental health professional certificate from ASRM
  • train in IFS
  • train in AEDP
  • have lots of guests at my Shabbos table
  • make Pesach
  • take an essay writing class
  • get involved in a volunteer capacity at my kids’ school

I would like to organize this into different areas of life and then complete it for 100. Would you do this, too? What’s on your list?
