Ladies Who Lunch

A while ago I wrote about how I am comfortable with my married friends because most of them got married after some time in shidduchim and we can still relate to each other. Recently, I ventured into new terrain — reconnecting with married classmates who I have not been in touch with for awhile and/or who got married a long time ago. One of my classmates initiated. We were close friends in school but we fell out of touch, and she reached out regarding something else and suggested we do lunch. I think in the past I would have felt nervous about meeting up but b”H I am in a place now where I am eager to reconnect. (It helps that my roommate and I have been on a streak where we go out for Shabbos meals to be social and we are always looking for new friends 🙂 ).

My friend and I went out for pizza and it was so, so nice to spend time! We both agreed that we do not see people often enough so we decided to have a get-together with other classmates who live in town. We thought 4-6 people would be the right number. We invited two (also married) classmates to go out with us for pizza on Rosh Chodesh and they were soo eager to join. So I’m looking forward to Wednesday night! It feels like a new era for me. I’m more deeply comfortable in my own skin and happy to connect with people b”H.

I hope you have something to look forward to this week, too!
