Have an Easy Fast

Hello, everyone. This week ran away from me — I had planned on posting something about the Nine Days but between schoolwork and my egg freezing cycle, I couldn’t make it happen. Just a quick thought from the Levush: Megillas Eichah is typically not written on the traditional parchment the way other megillos are because our hope is that we will only be reading it temporarily. We want to show that we believe Moshiach is coming imminently so we don’t write it in a way that could imply a sense of permanence. I think this relates to how many of us make decisions as singles, with the belief forefront in our minds that our zivug is coming imminently. Amen!

I wish you all a good Shabbos and an easy and meaningful fast. For Tisha B’Av posts from previous years, see here and here. This year in Yerushalayim!
