The actress Emma Watson got some flak for calling herself “self-partnered” as opposed to, you know, “single.” I’ll admit that’s a bit of an eyeroll, but recently in my apartment, I’ve been feeling that. I’m feeling very legitimately like a household (albeit, household of one), and I’m taking on the roles of two people who are supposed to be running a household together. Like I’ll ask and answer myself, Is this what we’re doing about supper? Yup, that’s what we’re doing. I’m really glad to have my apartment b”H, and I knew I’d enjoy it, but the part where I feel like Head of Household, like I’m taking up more space, is new. Always something new!
