Well, Then

I enjoy learning about myself as an adult, getting to understand my likes, dislikes, strengths and weaknesses, etc. in a more nuanced way. I finally put my finger on the sense of dread that creeps up for me when the weather warms up — even though it’s the nicest weather! It’s the spring wardrobe change that makes my heart sink. I much prefer fall clothing. It’s so much comfier and easier to wear and look put-together in (turtlenecks forever). Spring clothing often feels like it’s going to stain or snag or get tired-looking quickly, and maybe it’s just me but I find it to be more “involved” — sashes and slips and a shell in the right shade of off-cream.

I actually felt way better about shopping after this clicked for me. I realized that I had to focus on finding easy clothing, and for the most part, I did. (Also, I tried on a maxi dress that had me texting my sisters from the dressing room, “I can’t decide if this is pretty or if I look like I wandered out of Pride and Prejudice.” I decided it was pretty after all and I’m excited to rock my Pride and Prejudice dress all summer).

Are you team spring or team fall? Both/neither?

This is so true! But I do like that Spring/Summer offer us the opportunity to wear different clothing instead of the same rotation of sweaters over and over again. Enjoy your dress!
