None of us knows quite where we will find ourselves when we meet the right person, and what that process will look like, and how the pieces will fit together. But I’ve definitely absorbed the word on the street about what that process looks like for “older singles” (which I suppose I am): it’s lengthy, it’s complicated, it gets hard to commit, it’s a big mental adjustment, you have to be ready for surprises, etc. etc. I’ve also come up with theories and possible explanations for why I had to be single for so long, where my person has been all this time…And then I realized I don’t need to think up explanations, or assume that because of my age the process will be complicated. There doesn’t need to be a whole explainer. It could just work when the time comes. It may be a process, and it might just as easily be easy. No need to limit Hashem in my mind.
