Chanukah Party Visualization

In Meeting Your Half-Orange, Amy Spencer talks about visualizing different scenes from your future life with your husband as part of the fourth step of the half-orange process. I’m visualizing the Chanukah party I’m going to host (next year) with my husband. I’m adding details, from our work schedules that night to the menu, paper goods and activities. I’m frying up some frozen latkes (sorry everyone but latkes from scratch are too much work), served with applesauce (mmm, a taste I acquired as an adult), doughnuts from my local bagel store because they make the best doughnuts, creamy broccoli soup, lasagna, and chopped salad, served on classic Chanukah paper goods. The food is followed by a great grab bag. The party playlist includes oldies like “Light Up the Nights” mixed with my favorite Maccabeats takeoffs. In this visualization, I live near my parents and they are attending along with my local siblings and some friends. I learned over the years that I like contained, low-key gatherings so that’s what this is. You can join in spirit :).
