It’s An Experience

A little resilience-boosting tip I wanted to share: When something happens that isn’t quite as you’d want it, add the word “experience” to the name of the event. For example, a Missed Train Experience. Or a Wrong-Shoes-For-The-Weather Experience.Adding that label provides distance to help your brain stop personalizing or globalizing the…experience.

 

(P.S. Gretchen Rubin adds the word “meditation” to a boring task, i.e. “a laundry folding meditation”).
