Thank you to those who completed the survey! Much appreciated. Hint, hint… Pesach this week! Let’s do it! I have an embarrassing obsession with Pesach shopping orders. Don’t ask. Back in the day, my mother used to do one giant grocery trip before she started cooking in the Pesach kitchen. Sometimes I would go with her and …
Hi, everyone! After four years of blogging, I am finally interviewing my readers on who you are and what you like! Whether you just discovered my blog this week or you’ve been here since the beginning, I would love your feedback. Here is a survey that should take about five minutes to complete, if you’d be so kind. I am …
A reader asked for a post about married friends a few months ago, and I’m excited to finally dive into this topic which for some reason has never made it into a post in my four years of blogging! One of my first posts was about engaged friends (the story behind that is that my childhood BFF got engaged …
This past Shabbos I had a really fun time with a friend…playing Perfect Matches! Now, I’ve mentioned on this blog that I don’t enjoy question-answer dating games and in the past, I didn’t. But revisiting the game now, I see that I actually find it really fun to answer the questions! I think it’s because I’ve evolved and gotten to …
Hi, all, finally picking up the series again. When I left off, you were implementing your post-date self-care plan and getting ready to process your date. Hello, everyone. I hope you had a wonderful Purim last week! I had an almost strangely calm one, and it was nice. Recently, I read The Wonderful Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum to my nephews. This is a great illustration of the hero’s journey. It was fun for me to revisit the book as an adult and read it …
Hi all, just dashing off something short and sweet in honor of Purim. Because this Purim is on Friday, I know I’ll have to cut back on the shalach manos and general activity. I’m giving out challah (six months and counting! yay!) so I guess I’ll drop off the extras at a neighbor if I don’t use the whole …
Here’s another dating metaphor that’s been helping me recently. This is something that comes up a lot for people who have been dating for a few years or longer — the phenomenon 😉 of hearing only repeat suggestions for a while. It can get to a point where you really believe there is no one else out there. I know …
So recently I did this thing where I sent my updated resume to everyone and the mailman. The story is that I was reading some old blog posts on Sunday and I read the one on hishtadlus and was inspired to do some. So I did and it was really kind of fun. I reconnected with a lot of people …
A great strategy for mindful dating is to develop a self-care plan to implement after every date (not just the first but I’m inserting this mini-post here). To be most effective, this should be planned and ready to go in advance of the date so you have something cozy and supportive to look forward to no matter what happens. I …
