Spring Newsletter 9/13

And it’s May.

A client shared that the month of April felt like a slog and that her friend refers to the cloudy feeling that can hang over this time of year as “the Aprils.” T. S. Eliot did say that “April is the cruellest month…” Now that we’re through, we can look forward to consistently improving weather and more sunshine to come!

I spent this past Sunday mostly grading after all. It was a dreary day, in any event — not quite right for a spring outing.

On Monday, I started teaching Journal to the Self again. In addition to a small group of adults, I am teaching a separate (shorter) class to a group of sixth graders. That is kind of hilarious because working with kids has not really been my thing. But a friend’s daughter really wanted to take a journaling class with me and I told my friend that if they could get a group together, I would teach it — and they did! So I have my five sixth graders on Zoom and it is a learning curve for me but they are very sweet.

I noticed beautiful azaleas in bloom this week. Maybe I can add some to my garden.

And I listened to The Persian Pickle Club and Cheaper by the Dozen (loved both, both were rereads). I have been enjoying getting back into audiobooks! I kind of ebb and flow with them. They make commutes go fast. Do you have any to recommend?

Wishing you a wonderful and restful Shabbos!
