Sprinkles

I just came across the term “sprinkles” as a counterpart to “glimmers,” and it is such a fun term. Glimmers are the small, day-to-day stimuli that we notice around us that help our nervous systems relax, like the smell of magnolia petals, or the glint of sunlight on a pond. Sprinkles, a term from Erlene Grise-Owens, LCSW, are the moments we intentionally intersperse. These are the small things like cooking a delicious recipe, going for a walk, or reading a good book. The little things add up over time and help us develop hope and resilience. I hope you can sprinkle small, easy positive moments into your day!

Haha, that made me JUMP! We are actually planning on basing ourselves in Nice and Marseille and doing day trips (so we see parts of the Riviera and Provence). I would love to go to Lyon and so many other places in France, though! We have done a lot of our planning because we had to book things in advance, so now we’re in a lull, but we’ll go back into planning mode a few weeks out to iron out the details.
