Studio Apartment

An itty bitty studio apartment is for sale(!) in my neighborhood and because I can technically afford to buy it on my own I am diving headlong into a daydream of buying it and making it mine. You may know by now that I have a fondness for little things, and a studio apartment is like the grown-up-in-the-city version of a woodsy cottage.

For inspiration I am looking at this home tour, this one, and this crazy boutique hotel.

I envision a packed gallery wall like this one, a bistro table with a pair of rattan dining chairs, these sconces, a feminine gold mirror, a green velvet sofa, and a large coffee table for books and snacks. This funky lamp makes me think of a candelabra, and I’d love to work in a chair like this for a touch of masculinity.

Some items for my gallery wall include this photo from Venice, this quote from Lord of the Rings (which I still haven’t read but totally will), the Plaza Hotel, and my two David Hockney prints (one and two). I also love this scribble with a great name and I have a Sound of Music poster.

As you can see, I haven’t quite chosen everything, but it’s been a lot of fun to “window shop”!

Any of my readers into interior design? Any thoughts or suggestions on how to create the perfect cozy haven?
