Spring Newsletter 12/13 (And Have a Good Y”T!)

I’ve noticed that shorter workweeks don’t usually feel like less work to me. It’s often the same number to tasks and responsibilities packed into fewer days! Ah, well. It will be nice to be away for a few days visiting my grandmother. I’m going with my parents. And turning around on Sunday!

The happenings of the week: As mentioned, my nephew’s siddur play. I also ordered new glasses (I cracked my frames — by lying on top of them — after 6 years! Don’t leave your glasses in your bed!) I bought two skirts from Banana Republic Factory (this pattern, and yellow).

I watched To Catch a Thief, which was on my list of things to do to prepare for my trip. It’s set in the French Riviera and I noted that places are starting to look familiar to me.

I also bought sneakers which were needed, and am still in the market for a floppy hat. I will be needing a backpack for long day trips but I think I’ll get something basic from Target. Finally, I do not own a fanny pack but think it could be useful – or is there another on-trend small bag I should be looking into?

This technically happened last week (Friday), but I was approved as a Medicare provider. I am proud of myself for figuring out the paperwork myself, and I would have been approved sooner had the person handling my application not needed to go on emergency leave for a month in middle.

My sister and her family slept over one night this week on their way to EY for Y”T. This was a great bonus! When it comes to maintaining relationships, it seems that visit frequency matters more than duration. We had a late night and early morning to hang out and it added so much to my week.

Currently listening to Provence A-Z by Peter Mayle, author of A Year in Provence. As Gretchen Rubin says about travel and such, “to get more out of it, put more into it.” Definitely trying to do that!

And that’s all for now, friends.

Wishing you a sweet and happy Shavuos!
