Do you have a really delicious lettuce salad recipe? I’m looking for a couple new ideas to mix things up at the Shabbos table. These are the favorites we’ve been enjoying these days: Chef’s salad. This is our go-to for Shabbos day. The recipe here is slightly adapted from the chef’s salad recipe in Kosher by Design. We make …
Hi, all! The past few weeks I was really tired and busy with work stuff so I took a bit of a break. One thing I’ve been pretty consistent about, though, is daily journaling. I hope everyone had a really nice Chanukah. Did you light your own menorah? I did every night this Chanukah, which doesn’t always happen, but I really wanted …
It’s December! Winter is headed our way. Can you believe it? Wasn’t it just summer…and fall? Since winter is not my favorite season, I thought it would be nice to make a list of things to look forward to. Here are some ideas: Take a course, for work if you find that enjoyable, or purely for your own enrichment. …
If you could go back to high school (ok, minus all that), what class would you most want to sit in? I always loved biology and language arts, especially literature. (I tutor a few high school girls in language arts and they laugh at how enthusiastic I am about the material). As far as kodesh classes, I would love to …
My sister’s classmate recently got engaged. When she shared the news with someone, that person immediately asked, “So, how many left in your class?” The two of us instinctively looked at each other because that is a question neither of us appreciates. (And, might I add, I have a question in response: How is the answer going to help you?) …
Hi, all! Last week I took a 3-day course for work and I was so busy (and tired) all week! It’s good to be back 🙂 Recently, I started saying Tehillim regularly with the Artscroll Interlinear Tehillim. If you’re not familiar, the way the interlinear works is that the translation of each word is written below it in a format …
Have you ever taken the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator? Last summer one of my friends wanted to do this version with me, but I wasn’t so sure I was interested. I kind of scoffed at the idea that my entire personality could be summed up in a few letters, and don’t we all feel more complex than that? Well, we did it …
Thank you to my readers and friends who were there for me this past week. You helped me feel so much better. Thank you! Ok…fun stuff again. One of the homework assignments from the teleconference series that I’m doing is to keep a journal and write a minimum of three pages each day. I’ve kept journals before, off and …
I’ve written that I’m going through a hard time. And because this is an uplifting, positive place (for me at least as much as you), I’m not going to go into detail about the nature of this challenge. But last night I had to reconnect with some truths to help me through. We are flesh and blood. Only Hashem …
We have a new little peanut in the family and I’m going to meet him this week iy”H! Nice gift for the beginning of the year 🙂 Last week wasn’t really a writing week for me. Really, the past month or two have been harder, but I want to keep this blog afloat to the best of my ability. …
