It’s Not Now or Never

Continuing the thread from last week about bashert/ “missing your bashert.” Sometimes in shidduchim it feels like everything comes with this extreme sense of urgency: If you say no to them now, they’ll be gone forever! If you don’t get back to them quickly, they’re going to move on! If you take a break, you’ll miss your opportunity! This isn’t a healthy or balanced way to live. In most areas of life, we are hopefully able to recognize that things aren’t so rigid, and it isn’t either now or never ever ever again.

Let’s try to let go of this sense of responsibility for how things work out, give it to Hashem and trust that He can and will orchestrate events of His choosing. If Hashem wants something to work out, it will. There is a margin for human error. It’s okay. Hashem is helping you now and He will help you in the future. Let yourself believe that.
